Costa Rican Casita | Seas the Day | Our Life, Unscripted

April 2021

If you’ve been following us on social media, we’ve peeped about our upcoming surprise. Now we are here to share our BIG NEWS and our crazy adventure. We’ve always wanted to own a little piece of paradise, and this year we made it happen. We purchased our own Costa Rican casita, ‘Seas the Day.’

This Costa Rican casita has checked all of our ‘must have’ boxes! At first, it seemed like it was too good to be true. We feared more disappointment like we’ve ran in to so many times in the past. However, after I took a quick trip to visit our soon to be casita in March, we got the ball rolling to make our dreams come true. It continued to be a positive experience throughout and felt like the best decision for our family.

Throughout this past month our family has been prepping for the big next step; our first trip as a family of four to ‘Seas the Day.’ We made list after list and researched every small detail. We wanted to make this first trip extremely productive while also allowing plenty of time to soak it all in and vacation.

We had so much to do and so much to buy. After that came the task of packing it all for an international trip. Somehow we made it happen! All our belongings arrived in one piece AND Everything fit in the rental car (which was a minor miracle in itself). We were now off to our Costa Rica casita!

The first day was overwhelming. We debated our decisions amidst a blurry, tired dinner with exhausted and grumpy children. But as we got more settled, I was able to show the family around to all the beaches, restaurants and surroundings of the area. We got to see all the gorgeous views, converse with some wonderful new friends, and really began to witness first hand what the ‘Pura Vida‘ life could provide for us! Our decision to purchase our Costa Rican casita couldn’t have felt more right!

Below is a collection of our first trip; unscripted. No posed family photos. No professional cameras. Just a cell phone, a point and shoot camera and our family!

Lastly, we want to share why we picked this name and what ‘Seas the Day’ has to do with Captured Perspective Photography. Our name choice was initially a challenge. After spending a week here it felt right for so many reasons. First, the obvious play on words is fun! But the name truly means so much more than this. In 2012, our family experienced the unexpected loss of Brian’s Dad. Since then we have been very dedicated to this philosophy. We never know what tomorrow brings. Take the trip, go to the concert, spend time with the ones you love. Make memories today. That’s exactly what we did and we had a blast!

So the other great news: ‘Seas the Day’ will be offered through Captured Perspective for honeymoon travel, micro bachelor/bachelorette parties and much more at no charge for the first two nights with any wedding packages booked over $3000. Two nights doesn’t seem long enough? We agree! You can add additional nights as well. These will be made available at a discounted rate as well.
